Frequently
Asked Questions…

I'm new to fitness; are the classes a good idea for me?

Yes! Small group training is great for those who are new to working out. It allows you the support of the team while getting the personal instruction of the coach. The coaches job is to not only give you a workout but then to help you throughout the workout with technique tips and tricks, motivation and education.

What is your cancellation policy?

CLASSES:

  • Effective December 31, 2024, any class cancelled 10 hours or less before the start time of class will receive a $10 charge on their credit card.

  • No-Shows to class will receive a $25 charge after their first warning.

ARE THERE EXCEPTIONS TO THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

    • Yes.
Sickness, road/weather conditions or personal emergencies may be exceptions to the late charge. (See below for definitions of these exceptions).

    • If you are canceling at the last minute because of sickness, road/weather conditions or a personal emergency it is your responsibility to let Farm Girl Fitness know before the end of the day of the booking via email, info@farmgirlfitness.ca, so that we can credit your account.

    • PLEASE NOTE: Refunds will not be given for these charges even if it is deemed that there is an exception to the charge. Instead Farm Girl Fitness will give a credit to your account to be used on your next purchase or transaction.

    • All of these exceptions are based on the members' understanding and respect of THE HONOR SYSTEM. Please do not lie or abuse this provision for the sake of a few dollars. Please remember this affects the studio and your fellow members.
If Farm Girl Fitness management feels that this provision is not being respected and/or is being abused, management reserves the right to deny the exception.

    Definition of “Sickness”:
Anything that shows signs of sickness (sneezing, coughing, fever, chills, body aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc) and/or anything that comes on suddenly, preventing you from canceling early.

Please note: This exception does not include the sickness of others in your family. Example: Someone in your home is sick so you cancel last minute.

This means things like pre-existing injuries or simply “feeling tired” are not covered under this policy. If you have a pre-existing injury that suddenly acts up before class, this would not be covered. Farm Girl Fitness asks that people with pre-existing injuries or conditions that tend to have flare ups may want to hold off on booking early and instead may want to switch to booking at the last minute based on how they’re feeling.

    Definition of “Bad Road Conditions”:
Ultimately only you can decide if you feel comfortable driving when the weather creates bad road conditions.

If the road conditions in the immediate area to the studio are not safe, Farm Girl Fitness will always cancel classes and let you know via email, push notification and text. If Farm Girl Fitness cancels a class for any reason you will never be charged a late cancellation penalty since you were not the one to cancel.

If you feel that you cannot arrive safely or don’t feel comfortable driving because of the road or weather conditions where you are, please cancel your booking as early as possible. And if you know a storm is coming and aren’t sure what the conditions will be, consider cancelling early and then booking in at the last minute if it turns out it’s ok.

    Definition of “Emergency”:
Simply put, an emergency is something that involves life or death, or emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) being called.

This means things like having to work late because of a “work emergency”, bad traffic, family matters, plans changing, etc, do not qualify as an “emergency”. We understand that things come up and that life happens, however these things do not fall under the heading of an emergency.

    COURSES, WORKSHOPS OR CLINICS:

  • CANCELLATION POLICY: Any Course, Clinic or Workshop bookings that are cancelled 7 days in advance will receive a full refund. Any course, clinic or workshop that is cancelled less than 7 days before the start of the course will receive a 50% refund.

  • If you are not able to attend some of the training during the time of the course, clinic or workshop due to Covid-19 exposure or sickness you will NOT receive a refund, (full or prorated). You will receive a class credit for every 2 classes you miss.

  • Refunds are NOT available if you miss out on any of the course, clinic or workshop due to vacation, work, etc., or any reason other than sickness.

Where do I go when I arrive?

As you arrive stay to the RIGHT. You will see our barn (aka the studio) with a green roof. There is lots of parking available in front of the barn.

If you are registered for an OUTDOOR class please check to see which location outside you’ll be working out in.

How do I cancel a class?

You can cancel 2 ways:

  1. Login to your Wellness Living account:
    Select MY SCHEDULE.
Tap on cancel button for the class you want to cancel.

  2. Download the WELLNESS LIVING booking app for free.
Login to your account via the app to easily see the schedule and manage your bookings.

What do I need to bring to class?

Please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle and towel. You can refill your water on site.

Whats the minimum age to attend a class?

13 years old.

Minors must have an account set up and a waiver signed by their parent/guardian.

What if I’m not feeling well? Should I stay home?

If you are showing ANY signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or any other sickness we insist that you do not attend class. Cancelations due to sickness will not be penalized.

  • If you, someone in your household or someone that you have been in direct contact with is waiting on a COVID-19 test we ask that you do not attend class.

I have injuries. Can I still attend a class?

Possibly. It can depend on your injury as all injuries are different. All classes are designed to be modified based on each member. Please tell your coach BEFORE class starts about your concerns. They can easily give you alternative exercises to help you work around your injury.

However, what is most important is that your doctor or health professional has given you the go-ahead to workout. This is very important to us here and is part of your waiver that you agree to before class. If your doctor has suggested rest or exercises cannot be modified we strongly advise that you rest.

Are men welcome?

Yes! Everyone is welcome here at Farm Girl Fitness!
We are NOT a women’s only studio.

Round pen

What if there is bad weather? Is my outdoor class cancelled?

95% of the time NO, your outdoor class will NOT be cancelled due to bad weather.

The reason for this is because of our outdoor, covered, open air facility called “The Round Pen”. This outdoor facility is by-law approved and is perfect for keeping the rain and snow out while keeping the fresh air flowing with 8, very large openings. This facility allows us to run outdoor classes 12 months out of the year.

This facility has a sand floor to help prevent freezing in the winter and dirty feet in the summer. Please wear appropriate shoes and be sure to bring a yoga mat or beach towel.

***The one exception to outdoor class cancellations is if there is a strong threat of lightening, high winds or tornado warnings.
